About Durham Cycles

I'm Jeremy, and this is a little bit of information about why I do what I do. My passion is engineering, figuring out how things work, and figuring out solutions to problems. Growing up I took everything I touched apart. I fell in love with bicycles when I was about 5 years old when I got my first bike. I always dreamed about doing crazy tricks and big jumps that i saw in BMX video games but I never got that good at it. As i got older and new bikes, I rode my bikes everywhere so eventually they needed repairs and I realized I need to bring tools unless I want to walk home every time I get a flat tire or had a part come loose. I started acquiring and carrying every tool I would need to fix my bicycle, so I was always prepared. I brought wrenches, tubes, tire levers, allen keys, spare chains, spoke wrenches, and more tools in my backpack to high school every day just in case. I always worked on my bike and my friends always came to me when they needed help with their bikes. In my high school auto shop, my interests were decided. My teachers were amazing and I learned about so many different tools and techniques that I'll never forget. I used to spend my lunches in the auto shop, taking apart engines and eating sandwiches with my greasy hands. I loved every minute of it. That's why I started my bike repair shop, right in my basement. My ultimate goal is to have a large workshop and be able to bring my services to more people.

Thanks for reading. I hope to fix your bike soon!
